Great Wall Unveils the All-New Tank 300: Debut on July 6 with a 3-Meter Wheelbase, Four Powertrains, and LiDAR

Bold New Exterior with a More Modern Look
The front fascia has been redesigned with a black honeycomb grille, replacing the previous badge with the bold "TANK" lettering. A more muscular front bumper enhances its rugged appearance, while a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor signals the arrival of advanced intelligent driving capabilities.
Three new exterior colors—Passion Red, Shine Yellow, and Serenity Green—add a younger and more dynamic personality. New fender trims, redesigned alloy wheels, and an updated rear bumper create a more refined and cohesive overall appearance.

Larger Dimensions and More Interior Space
The new Tank 300 has grown significantly in size:
- Length: 4,886 mm
- Width: 1,984 mm
- Height: 1,927 mm
- Wheelbase: 3,010 mm
Compared with the current model, the vehicle is:
- 136 mm longer
- 54 mm wider
- 24 mm taller
- 260 mm longer in wheelbase
The impressive 3,010 mm wheelbase is even longer than the Ford Bronco (2,950 mm) and nearly identical to the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (3,008 mm).

Passengers benefit from substantially improved rear legroom, while the luggage compartment gains nearly 100 liters of additional storage, easily accommodating four carry-on suitcases along with camping equipment.
Interestingly, despite the longer wheelbase, the front overhang has been shortened, increasing the approach angle to over 38 degrees, further enhancing off-road capability.
Four Powertrain Options for Every Driving Style
One of the biggest highlights of the new Tank 300 is its expanded lineup of four powertrain choices.
Hi4-T Plug-in Hybrid
The Hi4-T version retains its traditional mechanical four-wheel-drive system, complete with front, center, and rear differential locks. Equipped with a 37.1 kWh battery, it delivers a WLTC pure electric range of 105 km, offering excellent off-road capability while improving fuel efficiency.
3.0T V6 Hooke Edition
Designed for serious off-road enthusiasts, the flagship model is powered by Great Wall's 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine (E30Z).
Specifications include:
- Maximum power: 265 kW (approximately 360 hp)
- Peak torque: 500 Nm
Combined with a 48V mild hybrid system, solid front and rear axles, and 249 mm of ground clearance, this version is built for demanding off-road adventures.
2.0T Gasoline Version
The entry-level model features the proven 2.0T E20CB turbocharged engine, producing:
- Maximum power: 175 kW
This version offers a balance of performance, affordability, and everyday usability.
Hi4-Z Plug-in Hybrid
Making its debut in the Tank 300 lineup, the Hi4-Z version is designed primarily for urban driving while maintaining light off-road capability.
Highlights include:
- 59.6 kWh battery
- WLTC electric range of 200 km
- Decoupled electric four-wheel-drive system
For customers who spend most of their time commuting but still enjoy weekend adventures, this could become the most practical choice.

Smarter and More Comfortable Interior
The cabin has been significantly modernized with upgraded technology and improved ergonomics.
Standard features include:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 automotive chipset
- Coffee OS 3.0 intelligent cockpit system
- 14.6-inch floating infotainment display
- 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster
- Three-spoke multifunction steering wheel
- Electronic column-mounted gear selector
Despite the digital upgrades, essential off-road controls such as differential lock activation and four-wheel-drive mode selection remain physical buttons, ensuring easy operation in demanding conditions.

Advanced Intelligent Driving with LiDAR
For the first time, the Tank 300 is equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, enabling Great Wall's latest Coffee Pilot Ultra intelligent driving system.
The system supports:
- Urban Navigation on Autopilot (City NOA)
- Highway Navigation on Autopilot (Highway NOA)
- Intelligent parking assistance
- Comprehensive active safety functions
This marks a significant step forward in combining traditional off-road capability with cutting-edge driver assistance technology.
Expected Pricing
The current Tank 300 is priced between RMB 199,800 and RMB 249,800.
Industry analysts expect the new model to be priced approximately as follows:
- 2.0T Gasoline: Starting around RMB 200,000
- Hi4-T Plug-in Hybrid: RMB 230,000–250,000
- Hi4-Z Plug-in Hybrid: RMB 250,000–270,000
- 3.0T V6 Hooke Edition: RMB 300,000–350,000
Compared with competitors such as the BYD Fangchengbao Bao 5 and the Ford Bronco, the all-new Tank 300 offers greater interior space, a wider variety of powertrains, and more advanced intelligent driving technologies.
