The fuel pump is one of the basic components of the fuel injection system of an electronic fuel injection vehicle. It is located inside the vehicle's fuel tank. The fuel pump works when the vehicle is started and the engine is running. Its function is to suck the fuel out of the fuel tank, pressurize it, and then deliver it to the fuel supply pipe. It cooperates with the fuel pressure regulator to establish a certain fuel pressure and provide a signal for the fuel gauge.
Working principle of the fuel pump
The fuel in the single-pump tank is filtered by the filter and sucked into the pump core. It is divided into two ways. One way is to supply the car engine through the pump core oil outlet, and the other way is to return the excess fuel pumped out to the tank.
The main and auxiliary pumps are suitable for saddle-shaped fuel tanks. After passing through the filter, the fuel is sucked into the pump core and divided into two ways. One way is to supply the car engine through the pump core oil outlet, and the other way is to drive the auxiliary pump's priming pump through the oil port next to the pump core. The priming pump pumps the fuel in the auxiliary tank to the main tank.
Tips on using the fuel pump
Please go to a regular gas station to refuel. Filling with inferior gasoline will cause damage to the gasoline pump, affect normal driving, and even cause safety hazards. When the fuel gauge alarm sounds, please add fuel immediately and avoid parking on a slope for a long time. When there is less fuel in the tank, it will affect the heat dissipation of the fuel pump and reduce the service life of the fuel pump. When the fuel level is low, parking on a slope for a long time will cause the fuel pump oil storage box to not store oil normally. At this time, the fuel pump core cannot be completely immersed in the fuel, which will cause corrosion and other problems. Therefore, it is best to park the vehicle on a level road when it is not used for a long time. Avoid not using the vehicle for a long time. If gasoline is stored for a long time, the oil will oxidize and deteriorate, which will cause incomplete combustion, carbon deposition, engine oil circuit blockage, fuel pump corrosion, etc., which will cause unstable idling, etc., affecting engine performance. Keep the fuel port clean and clean dust in time. Dust entering the fuel tank will cause the fuel pump filter to be blocked, the pump core to wear or get stuck.
