BYD Launches Large-Battery DM-i Models
Pure Electric Range Doubles, Starting from RMB 89,800
Just after New Year’s Day 2026, BYD officially ushered in the era of “large-battery plug-in hybrids.”
Four of BYD’s best-selling DM-i sedan models have now been upgraded with large-capacity batteries, delivering a CLTC pure electric range of 210 km and a combined driving range exceeding 2,110 km, setting new benchmarks in the mainstream plug-in hybrid market.

BYD Large-Battery DM-i
Pure Electric Range Doubles
All four upgraded models are equipped with a 25.28 kWh high-capacity DM-i-specific Blade Battery, extending CLTC pure electric range to 210 km, effectively doubling the EV range compared with many competitors in the same class.
For users with an average daily commute of around 40 km, this means “one charge per week” is sufficient to cover most daily travel needs, significantly reducing fuel consumption and charging frequency.

Longer Range, Faster Charging, Zero Anxiety
With 2,110 km of combined range on a full tank and full charge, plus fast charging from 30% to 80% in around 20 minutes, BYD’s large-battery DM-i models deliver a truly low-cost, low-anxiety driving experience.
Whether for weekday commuting, weekend intercity travel, holiday road trips, or cross-province business travel, these vehicles offer greater confidence, flexibility, and peace of mind—allowing drivers to travel farther with less worry.

Best-Sellers Upgraded
BYD Redefines the “Value Ceiling” of RMB 80,000 Hybrid Cars
As a global leader in plug-in hybrid technology, BYD’s cumulative DM-i sales have exceeded 7.86 million units. In other words, one out of every two plug-in hybrid vehicles sold in China comes from BYD.
The Qin family and SEAL series included in this upgrade are proven market champions. In 2025 alone:
-
Qin family sales exceeded 661,000 units
-
SEAL series sales surpassed 518,000 units
Both models have consistently ranked among the top-selling plug-in hybrid sedans in their segments.
Three Core Advantages That Hit the Mainstream Market Precisely
With the large-battery upgrade, these four models stand out with three decisive strengths:
-
Longest Range in Class
-
210 km pure electric range
-
2,110 km combined range
-
-
Top-Tier Technology as Standard
-
Fifth-generation DM technology
-
Blade Battery
-
“God’s Eye” advanced driver assistance system
-
DiSus-C intelligent suspension system
-
-
Lowest Cost of Ownership
-
Daily commuting can be completed almost entirely in EV mode
-
Electricity cost as low as RMB 0.2 per km
-
Together, these advantages push configuration and value to the maximum level within the segment, once again redefining the hybrid “value ceiling.”
