SAIC MG made a big splash at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, unveiling the all-new IM5 and IM6, an eye-catching concept sports car Cyber X, and a Cyberster Black special edition. It was like bringing the auto show to the event.

The IM5 is a pure electric executive coupe with aerodynamically designed lines. Its low-slung stance bears a resemblance to the Porsche Taycan. Its panoramic glass sunroof, 19-inch aerodynamic wheels, and striking rear spoiler and LED taillights make it clear it's a formidable competitor.

The interior boasts a massive 26.3-inch screen, housing a fully integrated digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. It supports both Android and Apple smartphones, and underneath lies a 10.5-inch touchscreen. The seats are made of imitation leather and feature heating and ventilation. A 20-speaker audio system, metal accents, and a wireless charging pad are also included, making the specs quite impressive.

The IM5 offers two battery options: 75kWh and 100kWh, with single-motor and dual-motor all-wheel drive options. The 100kWh Long Range model boasts a range of 710 kilometers on a single charge, and can charge from 10% to 80% in just 17 minutes, making it quicker to refill your cup of tea. The Performance model is even more powerful, boasting 742 horsepower and 802 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and boasting a powerful sprint that'll blow your hair into an afro. With a starting price of £39,450 (approximately 383,000 yuan), and a Performance model costing £48,495, it's a good idea to hold on tight.

The IM6 SUV shares a similar design with the IM5, but its height has been raised considerably, giving it a true SUV profile. Its cargo compartment is also more spacious, boasting 23.5 cubic feet (665 liters), making it more reliable than a moving company in cramming luggage.
The IM6 also features a 100 kWh battery pack, boasting a range of 388 miles (624 km). Rear-wheel steering is standard, making it cat-like in cornering. The Performance version accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds, leaving its competitors half a block behind from a stoplight. With a starting price of £47,995 (approximately 466,000 yuan), the Performance version costs £50,995, and there's also a £52,995 Launch Edition, making the choice a bit of a hassle.

The Cyber X concept car is a teaser for MG's future design. This electric "city explorer" boasts a boxy design, a nearly vertical front end, a full-width light strip, and headlights that can be hidden when not in use, almost like a game of hide-and-seek. Its sleek lines, muscular wheel arches, and discreetly hidden door handles give it a sci-fi feel. With a panoramic sunroof, plastic body panels, and aerodynamic wheels with wide tires, it looks like something out of a sci-fi film.

The Cyberster Black special edition features a premium paint scheme typically reserved for luxury cars, creating a "Luxury Black" exterior. Ultra-fine glass particles are incorporated into the paint, creating a shimmering effect reminiscent of a sprinkle of stars. In addition to this unique paint scheme, the car also features chrome wheels, red brake calipers, and an all-black interior, creating a chilling effect.
