At the beginning of this year, Chery Pickup had exposed the design drawings of the pickup truck that is the main global model, and in the golden autumn of October, the true appearance of this pickup truck finally took shape. Recently, Chery Automobile exhibited a prototype of a pickup truck in Wuhu, Anhui. The car is internally code-named KP11. The model unveiled this time is not a fully equipped mass-produced model, and the chassis is even a simulated chassis for appreciation only. But the appearance, size, and hardware configuration of the car are still worth talking about in detail.

KP11 is a model displayed to overseas dealers. The interior has not been exposed yet, but it is expected that in order to save costs, the difference between domestic and foreign may be the difference between left-hand drive and right-hand drive. According to Zhang Guibing, deputy general manager of Chery Automobile and general manager of the international company, this pickup truck will belong to its Jaecoo brand. KP11 offers 2 different designs, one is a passenger version and the other is an off-road version. After export, it will compete with medium-sized pickup trucks such as Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux in overseas markets.

 Jaecoo is one of Chery's sub-brands. The brand was launched in 2023 and is mainly aimed at export markets, including Australia, Russia, Thailand and other places. After the mass-produced version of KP11 is launched, it is likely to be sold simultaneously at home and abroad. At that time, KP11 may be sold overseas as the Jaecoo brand and sold domestically as the Chery brand, adopting a strategic layout of different brands in different markets.

Let's talk about the appearance first. The front face of the whole vehicle adopts a large-size shield-shaped grille with a horizontal chrome trim. This design should be influenced by the Tiggo SUV series. There is also a huge "CHERY" logo in front of the air intake, which is very similar to the early Chery SUV Exploration 06. At the same time, there are split LED light groups on both sides, and the fog lights are located on the lower side of the front bumper.

The side of the car adopts a double waistline design, and the window part is very similar to the previous design drawing. KP11 is also equipped with thick door handles and wide side pedals, and is equipped with black BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, which can provide better road passability. The roof of the vehicle is equipped with a roof tent and awning, and the rear cargo box is equipped with a modified rear cover, adding more entertainment and multi-purpose attributes.

The interior was not exposed this time, but with the increasingly rich technological configurations, it is expected that Chery pickups will be equipped with family-style dual 12.3-inch connected screens, L2-level intelligent driving assistance, and even Dazhuo intelligent driving-related functions in the future. Because this car has certain passenger properties, it will also provide richer configurations in terms of comfort, such as leather seats, car air conditioning, etc.

It is revealed that the KP11 pickup will provide 3 power sources, including a 2.4T gasoline engine, a PHEV plug-in hybrid version, and an extended-range version, but the car has not yet revealed the news of launching a diesel version engine. The KP11 display model uses a simulated chassis. Although it is not the final mass-produced version, Chery said it will launch a mass-produced model in 2025.
