Everyone is familiar with the Changan UNI series. The UNI-K, UNI-T and UNI-V are all well-known, and the manufacturer calls them the "KTV combination". Later, a UNI-Z equipped with a plug-in hybrid power was launched. Based on this car, Changan recently launched the UNI-Z equipped with a 1.5T pure fuel engine.
Changan UNI-Z is positioned as a compact SUV, with a body size of 4730x1890x1680mm and a wheelbase of 2795mm, which is larger than Changan CS75 PLUS (size 4710x1865x1710mm, wheelbase 2710mm). In terms of appearance, the new car still continues the mecha style of the Changan UNI series. The front face adopts a V-shaped matrix smoked black center grille, and many straight lines and corners are added to the body, taking a youthful and sporty design route.
Entering the car, the center console of Changan UNI-Z does not have many design changes. It is a simple design with big openings and closings. The whole series is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.6-inch central control screen as standard, and the steering wheel adopts a double-width design. Although the car system is not very intelligent, it also provides relatively basic entertainment and information functions, and supports Carlink and Hicar mobile phone interconnection mapping.
In terms of other configurations, Changan UNI-Z Luxury and Premium models provide L2 intelligent driving assistance systems, including collision warning, lane keeping, active braking, 360-degree panoramic imaging, full-speed adaptive cruise and other ADAS functions. Although not rich, they are all relatively practical functions. At the same time, Changan UNI-Z also provides built-in driving recorder, mobile phone wireless charging, remote start, mobile phone Bluetooth key, front seat heating/ventilation/memory, 4G network, OTA upgrade, karaoke, 4 speakers or Sony 8 speakers and other configurations.
Overall, for an SUV with a top configuration of less than 120,000 yuan, Changan UNI-Z's configuration is still very sincere and has a good cost-effectiveness. If the budget is sufficient, it is recommended to directly choose the Premium model priced at 119,900 yuan. As for the starting price of 99,900 yuan, I personally do not recommend it.
In terms of power, the Changan UNI-Z fuel version is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 188 horsepower and a peak torque of 300 Nm. It is also Changan's current flagship Blue Whale engine. The transmission part is matched with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 7.8 seconds. The power reserve is sufficient for home use, and the comprehensive fuel consumption is 6.87L/100km. The actual fuel consumption depends on the driving habits and environment.
In terms of chassis, Changan UNI-Z uses front McPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension. The driving texture of this suspension is relatively comfortable, and the support on the curve is also relatively good, but it does not reach the level that may be praised. It can only be said that it is acceptable for home use, which is also directly related to the cost investment caused by the selling price.
