On October 22, Great Wall Tank officially launched a new off-road new energy architecture - longitudinal dual-motor hybrid architecture Hi4-Z on the Hook Road, and released off-road classification enterprise standards to provide users with a reference for vehicle selection.
Great Wall Motors Off-road Classification Enterprise Standard Release
Safety is the premise of off-road, but due to different off-road scenarios, the performance requirements for vehicles vary greatly. The fit between the vehicle and the specific environment is very important, otherwise there will be risks. Based on the off-road genes accumulated from 34 years of car manufacturing experience and 4 million off-road vehicle driving data, Great Wall Motors has built a set of virtual simulation + site extension off-road capability evaluation models through data iteration and real user feedback, and extracted off-road users' high-frequency vehicle use scenarios: four single scenarios of mountains, deserts, snow and mud, and comprehensive crossing composite scenarios.
Great Wall Motors conducts comprehensive and in-depth tests on vehicles around the four dimensions of geometric passability, power transmission capability, driving verification, safety and reliability, and structural configuration, and 20 performance test standards with a total of 70 fine indicators. According to the off-road classification standards, Great Wall has weighted 70 indicators combined with the degree of off-road performance, and finally divided off-road into four levels, namely super off-road, strong off-road, pan-off-road and urban SUV. Through the classification standards, users can be provided with a reference for car selection, aiming to make off-road a real pleasure rather than a dangerous sport.
New longitudinal dual-motor hybrid architecture Hi4-Z
At present, more users' high-frequency car use scenarios are mainly concentrated in urban travel and outdoor paved roads. They pay more attention to inductance rather than extreme off-road challenges. In order to accurately meet the needs of this market segment, the Tank brand officially launched a new longitudinal dual-motor hybrid architecture-Hi4-Z, providing users with a solution that takes into account both urban travel and pan-off-road.
Unlike Hi4-T, which has stronger off-road performance and is mainly aimed at strong off-road scenarios, Hi4-Z is an off-road new energy solution for pan-off-road scenarios. Hi4-Z is positioned as an ultra-long-range off-road platform. In the field of plug-in hybrid off-road, it has the world's longest pure electric range of 200km+, a zero-to-hundred acceleration of 4 seconds, and a maximum system comprehensive power of 715kW.
Main performance characteristics of Hi4-Z architecture
Ultra-long battery life: the longest pure electric driving range is 200km+
The Hi4-Z architecture is equipped with a large-capacity battery of 59.05kW·h. The pure electric driving range under WLTC conditions can reach more than 200km, which can easily meet the needs of urban transportation for a week.
This is mainly due to the more than 30 structural design patents of Hi4-Z transmission. The planetary gearbox and the motor system are embedded and highly integrated to create the world's shortest longitudinal 3-speed hybrid configuration. When the 3-speed DHT plus continuously variable speed and high-power motor are realized, the length is 20% shorter than the single-speed hybrid configuration on the market, creating opportunities for battery layout and ultra-long battery life.
In addition, the Hi4-Z off-road exclusive battery pack adopts a high-energy-density ternary lithium battery solution, and the battery cell energy density reaches 234Wh/kg; the discharge power reaches 600kW, ranking first among plug-in hybrid off-road vehicles; the maximum fast charging power can reach 163kW, which is about 60% higher than other plug-in hybrid off-road vehicles. After charging for 15 minutes, the pure electric driving range can be increased by 120km.
Ultra-high energy efficiency: engine full-speed direct drive decoupled off-road architecture
Hi4-Z's ultra-long pure electric range basically achieves 0 fuel consumption in urban scenes, but this is far from the whole of energy efficiency performance. Compared with urban SUVs, tank users are more likely to drive and cross, and they will inevitably face inconveniences in feeding or charging. Therefore, under the condition of oil drive, Hi4-Z still needs to be economical and efficient.
Hi4-Z innovatively integrates 3-speed DHT and continuously variable transmission deeply, bringing full-speed engine direct drive effect and significantly reducing power transmission loss. At the same time, Hi4-Z off-road dedicated engine still achieves the industry's highest engineering thermal efficiency by adopting energy-saving technologies such as Miller cycle and low-pressure EGR while maintaining high power and high torque: 2.0T engine reaches 40%, and 3.0T engine reaches 38.5%.
Super performance: three power sources can drive at the same time
The Hi4-Z platform is equipped with a high-performance engine and front and rear high-power motors. The system's total power reaches 715kW. When accelerating at full speed, the three power sources work at the same time to achieve 0-100 acceleration in 4 seconds!
When feeding, the engine can still intervene in the full-speed domain and generate electricity for the rear axle motor at the same time. Compared with the feeding series mode of other models, the power loss is 7% less, and it can still achieve 0-100 acceleration in 5 seconds.
