In today's rapidly iterating automobile market, competition among major models is intensifying, and they have made efforts in many key areas such as technological innovation, design aesthetics, performance excellence and consumer experience, in order to seize a certain market share in the fierce market competition. This article selects four popular models, Yuan PLUS, Galaxy E5, AION Y, and Song Pro DM, as the analysis objects, focusing on the terminal sales data in October this year, the regional distribution characteristics of sales, and their market share in their respective segments. The three dimensions analyze the competitiveness of these four models.
Yuan PLUS
According to the terminal sales data analysis of Gasgoo Automotive Research Institute, this year, Yuan PLUS has shown a steady development trend in the automobile market. Specifically, in October, the terminal sales of Yuan PLUS reached 28,694 units, although it was a slight decline of 0.77% compared with the same period last year, but it increased by 13.27% month-on-month. From the cumulative sales from January to October, Yuan PLUS has sold a total of 341,723 units, which fully demonstrates the lasting appeal and wide recognition of this model in the market. In addition, the sales volume in each month of 2024 is relatively stable, mostly concentrated between 24,000 and 29,000 units, further demonstrating the stability of its market performance.
From the perspective of urban sales distribution, there are significant differences in the sales of Yuan PLUS in different cities. In October, Shanghai became the largest sales market for Yuan PLUS with sales of 862 units. At the same time, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in Shanghai was as high as 53.66%, which provided a good market environment for the sales of Yuan PLUS. It was followed by Wuxi and Zhengzhou, with sales of 605 and 602 units respectively. It is worth noting that the new energy penetration rates of these two cities are also high, with Wuxi at 63.4% and Zhengzhou at 57.77%.
In terms of market segments, Yuan PLUS has occupied a certain market share in many key areas. In the pure electric vehicle market, Yuan PLUS's share is 4.24%, ranking fifth; in the A-class car market, its share is 3.18%, ranking third; in the 10-15W price range, Yuan PLUS's share is 4.09%, ranking fourth. Especially in the A-class car market, the performance highlights the competitiveness of Yuan PLUS in the mid-to-high-end market, which can attract consumers who pursue quality and cost-effectiveness.
AION Y
In October, AION Y terminal sales reached 133,256 units. However, compared with the same period last year, sales have declined significantly, with a decrease of 40.23%. At the same time, compared with September, it fell by 14.77%. From the cumulative sales from January to October, AION Y sold 12,692 units, and the overall sales performance was relatively weak.
From the perspective of urban sales distribution, Foshan City ranked first with a sales volume of 722 units, and the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in Foshan City reached 49.36%. Shenzhen City sold 642 units, and the new energy penetration rate in this city was as high as 64.99%. Guangzhou sold 617 units, which is also an important sales market for AION Y.
Focusing on each market segment, AION Y's share in the pure electric vehicle market is 1.88%, ranking 14th in this market segment. In the A-class car market, AION Y accounts for 1.41%, ranking 21st. The A-class car market is one of the most competitive market segments. AION Y needs to differentiate itself in terms of product cost performance, interior space, comfort, etc. to attract more consumers. In the market within 10-15W, AION Y's market share is 1.81%, ranking 12th.
Overall, AION Y's sales performance is under certain pressure, and its market performance can be improved through targeted market strategies and product optimization in the future.
Song Pro DM
In October, the Song Pro DM model showed a strong sales momentum, with terminal sales reaching 22,613 units, a month-on-month increase of 55.43%, and an increase of 24.11% compared with the same period last year. From the monthly sales trend, sales in October reached a small peak within the year. At the same time, the cumulative sales volume from January to October reached 193,916 units.
From the perspective of sales distribution in cities, Song Pro DM performed well in all major cities. Among them, Tianjin ranked first with sales of 1,091 units, followed by Shenzhen and Xi'an with sales of 792 units and 671 units respectively.
In the plug-in and hybrid vehicle market, Song Pro DM ranked sixth with a market share of 5.84%, showing its strong competitiveness in the new energy field. In the A-class car market, Song Pro DM ranked eighth with a market share of 2.51%. In addition, in the price range of 150,000-200,000 yuan, Song Pro DM ranked sixth with a market share of 3.22%, which fully demonstrated its market position and consumer recognition in this price range.
Galaxy E5
The Galaxy E5, which was officially launched in August this year, has shown excellent market performance. In October, the terminal sales of Galaxy E5 reached 15,023 units, an increase of 21.39% compared with the same period last year. This growth trend reflects the increasing popularity of this model in the market. Moreover, from the perspective of cumulative sales, 42,610 units have been sold since its launch, further verifying the market stability of Galaxy E5.
From the perspective of urban sales distribution, Wenzhou City leads with sales of 400 units, and its new energy vehicle penetration rate is as high as 62.32%. Beijing City follows closely with sales of 392 units, and cities such as Shanghai, Zhengzhou, and Ningbo also occupy a certain market share.
At the market segment level, Galaxy E5 occupies 2.22% of the pure electric vehicle market, ranking fourth; in the A-class car market, its share is 1.67%, ranking sixteenth; and in the price range of 100,000-150,000 yuan, Galaxy E5's market share reached 2.14%, ranking tenth.
Overall, Galaxy E5's market performance in October 2024 is remarkable, whether in sales growth, urban penetration or market segment performance, it has demonstrated its competitiveness as a new energy vehicle. In the future, as the market further expands and consumer demand for new energy vehicles continues to grow, Galaxy E5 is expected to continue to maintain and enhance its market position.
